 TOP 10 TRENDS

PlanterVoids

Is less more with void planters? Certainly! We love creating apertures in our bespoke planters to produce uninterrupted views to the city, where small roof gardens benefit from spatial trickery to add depth, with LED contouring to boot.

RooftopHerbs

Herbology formation sweeps the rooftop nation... How many herbs are too many? No such thing! We plant dozens of aromatic herbs in our roof gardens. Herbs are inexpensive, fast-growing, edible & entice pollinators with long flowering periods.

PerennialRooftops

Perennialise thy rooftop garden, for it is good for the eyes & soul! Which perennials are good for rooftops? We use Mediterranean species, herbs, small-leaved & ground-cover plants & late-summer bloomers which intermix with autumn grasses.

TerraceTroughs

Tubs, tanks or troughs? The most basic of all rooftop planter shapes, good ol’ rectanguls sustain the basic need to cultivate shallow-rooted plants. We float all our planters on 10mm rubber tiles to create a sleek shadow gap & aid drainage.

PlanterUpkeep

What’s the secret to keeping rooftop planters in good nick? None! Powder-coated aluminium planters are very low-upkeep, rust-free, long-lasting & only require the occasional wipe with a microfibre cloth to remove water residuals.

SpecimenPlanting

Does size matter when planting a London rooftop? Specimen plants are bountiful across the land, enabling instant grandeur with limitless size grades for trees & shrubs, where we customise every planter to create seamless focality.

PlanterMulch

Is mulching important? Very! We use various aggregate sizes to mulch bespoke planters, ranging from 10mm chippings for troughs to 30-50mm pebbles for tree planters, creating a neat finish, conserving moisture & reducing weeds.

PlantersTrees

What’s the 1st constituent we design? Tree planters! Architectural trees form the backbones of all London roof gardens, providing shelter, shade, seasonality, biodiversity & well-being for people & wildlife. Ergo, we design unique containers for trees.

PlanterLights

How to design planter lights? We deploy contour tracing with LED tape to follow the outlines of cavities, hollows, bases & apertures within our bespoke planters, augmented by discreet uplighters onto plants to provide top silhouette coverage.
